Help!

We had heard a baby furniture store in Rogers was having a liquidation floor model clearance. So Jeremy and I, along with his mom and dad, ventured into Rogers to check it out. Yes, it probably is too early to be thinking about nursery furniture, but with a sale, I didn't want to miss out!
Boy did we have lots to learn about furniture. I had heard a lot of advice on whether to get a convertible crib or not. So many people had said they never used it as a toddler bed or a full sized bed. I have this gut feeling that I will use it! I know that may be naive, but I really am considering it. They say you'll use it for the next baby and won't get toddler bed usage out of it. Yes, we may use it on baby number two, but we have a unique situation. We may not get a baby number two. This may be the only chance I have. And maybe not, you never know what God has planned, I could conceive easily the second time, or have luck using frozen emrbryos, or adopt. I have NO idea what my future holds. So I can't really plan like a lot of other moms can. I can say that I would probably use the full size bed headboard because I plan on buying a dresser that matches and just plop a changing pad on top for a changing table. That way I already have matching furniture for the future full sized bed! Besides, its almost impossible to find a nonconvertible crib these days. So please let me in on any information about this! Let me know if there's something I haven't thought about!
Here's the cribs we're looking at. Let me know which one is your favorite!
Crib 1: You can't really see some of the details with this picture...I took them all with my Iphone, but I love the knob footings.

Crib 2: Yes we like dark wood!

Crib 3: I really love this one, but I believe it is the hardest to get (4-6 month delivery time) and you have to pay for the extras. This one's not a clearanced one...actually only one of these are.

Crib 4 : I also love this one. It is much easier to get, I believe they had it in stock or the delivery time was very short. And since we don't know what we're having yet, its very gender neutral...don't you think?

Crib 5: Also gender neutral and easy to get ahold of.

Crib 6: This is the clearanced one. It is really growing on me. I wasn't sure how much I'd like the black...but I do. It could be gone by now for all I know, but it has a dresser that matches it.

All the cribs that I have shown have matching furniture that I really like also. I wouldn't be disappointed with any of them, I know, but I usually need some help narrowing things down! So vote on your favorites! I really would appreciate it!

I vote for #1 & #3!! What is the name of this furniture place? Would it be worth a drive up from Fort Smith to check it out??

#2 looks a lot like ours...you can see pics of it on our blog. We went for the convertible, and I've considered some of the same things you've mentioned, especially since we're in the same "boat" as you all...not knowing whether we'll be blessed with another babe in the future. Anyway, we also purchased the matching dresser that came with a changing "guard" that goes around the top of the dresser, but can be removed later. I'm really happy with what we chose. The color is "espresso", a very dark brown, and a lot of colors look good with it. Good luck!! Next time I'm up to see you, I'll probably have the babe with me! :-)

I love #6! I didn't get to pick out my own crib, or stroller, or a lot of things. I kept getting "surprised" with presents. Saved us a lot of money, but made me sad in some ways. That leads into my advice. Do what you want, not what people advise you to do!

hey, all cribs are so pretty. Whatever you pick will look great. I really like the black one-but i love black and straight lines. I think convertible beds are a good bargain- they're really not much more and you might use it for your last child. Ours is convertible and we've never made it into a bed, yet, but you still have the option. fun, fun, getting to shop!

I like 1 and 4. The black one is cute too. Kristen has a black one and her bedding was cute with a boy and a girl but it wouldnt really go with the color ideas you had earlier. The one you liked the best looks a little more boyish than the others. HMMM...drawn to boy stuff? Being your best bud my vote should be weighted. Love you!

Glad to see your up-date, isn't it fun to go out looking at all the stuff thats out there, you will have to get before the baby comes. I like #1 & #6. Good solid piece's to add to as the baby grows up. Jessica & David have their baby bed now & its on her blog if you have time to check it out & the dresser/ changing table will come in alittle bit, its ordered just getting stained. Hope you are feeling good. K.Barnes

I like 1, and then the black one. I have always pictured either a dark wood or a black one. I can't wait to see which one you pick.

Ours looks just like #2- knob feet and all, but it is espresso. Wt ours in a week from that Kid's Unpainted furniture in Fay., and they stained it for us. We got a converter crib. I think we will use it for a full, too.

We have crib #5, and love it. We also purchased it from The Baby's Room...and weren't overly impressed with their customer service. However, they do have some good sales from time to time!!! Planning a nursery is so fun! You might also look at the fabric store by The Baby's Room...we got ours there and the ladies were pretty helpful!

I found your blog from Mary Kate and Jen's blogs. We too are going through IVF and I enjoy reading about other people's experiences. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I like cribs #2, #4 and #6. Good luck in making the decision!
