It has been a really good weekend. Friday night we went over to our friend's house to cook out. We hung out with James and Jessica and their little girl Addison. Our other friends, Lyndsey and Dean, and their little boy Hudson, joined us. It was fun watching the kids play while we had some good food.
Saturday I worked and Jeremy and Jonah met me in town so we could finish up some shopping. I'm looking for a wedding outfit for my sister's wedding in a couple weeks. Jeremy and I decided to go to Venetian Inn in Tontitown to eat for my Mother's Day meal. It was really good, except Jonah decided to get really hungry and not want his bottle. So I headed outside to the car to feed him the ole fashioned way. So we ate our meals separately! That's life when you have a 4 month old (who now weighs 15 lbs 3 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long!)!
Jeremy could not wait until Mother's Day to give me my gift, so he gave it to me Saturday night. He got me a mother's ring. It is a simple band with Jonah's name on it. I love it. I was impressed because he quietly borrowed a ring that I usually wear on my right hand to get the size for my new ring. Very smart on his part. Then Saturday night after I put Jonah to bed, Jeremy took my car and completely cleaned it from head to toe. It is soooo nice. It hasn't been that clean in years!
Then Sunday we headed to church and over to the Woody side for lunch. They all fawned over Jonah, so I got to eat my lunch without holding a baby. How blessed we are to have so many people who love our baby boy. After that Jeremy, Jonah, and I headed home for a nap! We all slept about two hours. I had to wake Jonah up because it was getting late in the afternoon and I was afraid I would never get him to sleep at night.
It was a wonderful First Mother's Day. I still don't feel like a mom. I feel like Jonah's caretaker, but not quite a mom yet. Surely that will come. Last year at Mother's Day, I was in the dreaded two week wait. We found out May 14 that we were pregnant. I remember that complete nervousness I felt all night long that night before I was to have the blood test. I remember getting blood drawn and thinking, "I could be pregnant right this second." Then the phone call that confirmed it. What a happy day. This time last year I was still taking shots of Progesterone to maintain the pregnancy, but I will tell you every 5 a.m. shot I had to take was worth it. I can't believe in a year so much could change. Here's a little tidbit to leave you with. This is a picture of Jonah getting his first meal of rice cereal. I think he wore as much as he ate. He seemed to like it though. Isn't he chubby? We have to take a bath each time we eat cereal!
